We have been alerted by Shazam to a "vishing" fraud attack that is targeting our customers. The attack consists of an automated telephone call in which a prerecorded voice advises you that the call is on behalf of SHAZAM and that the cardholder must "reactivate" their card by entering information immediately. These calls are fraudulent and have not been authorized by Shazam!

Do not confuse this with Falcon Fraud, our debit card monitoring company. They will call on our behalf but will never ask for your PIN or card number information. They call to verify purchases/transactions.

The Wabasso Lions All-Fest is set for June 27-29, 2008. The weekend will start with the annual Lions Pork BBQ serving from 5:00-8:30 PM at the Wabasso Community Center. Also that evening there will be a Kids Pedal Pull, Kids games sponsored by Sole Survivors 4-7 PM, kids entertainment "Chopper the DJ" sponsored by JontiCraft/Puzzle Craft 7-8:30 PM, KKCK Radio Live Remote Show 5-7 PM, Polka Dance with music by Dain's Dutchmen 7-11 PM, and Chopper the DJ (World's Nuttiest DJ) 8:30 PM - 12:30 AM. All events will be held in the Community Center parking lot. Food and beer will also be served during the evening events.

Saturday's events begin with a 5K Walk/Run sponsored by Zeug's Gym @ 8:30 AM. Fatty's Softball Tournament starts at 9:00 AM and will run both Saturday & Sunday at the Athletic Complex. The Wingnuts RC Flyers Remote Control Airplanes Noon to 2 PM. The All-Fest Parade (line-up at 2:00 PM, parade at 3:00 PM) is next followed by the Firemen's Waterfight at 4:30 PM by the water tower, Kids games are available from Noon-3:00 PM and then again from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Street Dance with music by High Noon at the Community Center beginning at 8:30 PM. Food and beer will also be available, along with many raffle items.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has recently issued a consumer advisory to help people avoid becoming victims of scams involving cashier's checks. The OCC issued the consumer advisory in response to a growing number of scams involving casher's checks. The advisory gives you information on some common scams and some steps you can take to avoid becoming a victim.
